Biodynamics is an holistic, ecological, and ethical approach to farming and gardening.  Its esoteric concepts integrate scientific understanding with recognition of the spirit in nature.  Biodynamic practices have the capacity to transform soil, plant and animal life; renewing and revitalising the earth and all who call it home.

A series of 3 workshops presented by Heidi Halter

Workshops 1 & 2 now completed.

See below for important information regarding the final workshop.

After studying organic farming in NSW Heidi became interested in biodynamics and travelled to Switzerland where she completed an introduction to Anthroposophy at the Goetheanum.  Whilst there, she became involved in the Agricultural Section.  Heidi participated in a number of annual agricultural conferences and trained ‘on the ground’ as she completed a year-long biodynamics course for local farmers who were steeped in biodynamic experiences and lifestyle. More recently, Heidi worked for many years lovingly tending the gardens as a gardener and gardening teacher at the Perth Waldorf School.

Workshop 3: Biodynamic Preparations 500 & 501

This fascinating workshop will introduce you to remarkably powerful yet simple activities you can do in your own garden or farm; the production and application of two essential Biodynamic preparations: 500 and 501.  Preparation 500 is the special soil-enlivening elixir that manifests powerful life forces.  It promotes humus formation as well as plant health and development.   Preparation 501 is the warmth and light-enhancing preparation that brings warmth and light to plants, ensuring healthy growth and strengthening against fungal attack.  Each participant will be able take both preparations home for their garden.   During the first workshop we filled and buried the cow-horns for 'overwintering'  During this workshop we may dig up the cow-horns complete with preparation 500 and bury the next ones to create preparation 501 over summer.

** Please bring two glass jars to take your liquid preparations home.
